Have you ever wanted to become an art instructor? Would you like to teach others a simple but effective method of oil painting? If so, Alexander Art my have the answer you've been looking for.

Back in the 1970's, a wonderful artist by the name of William "Bill" Alexander introduced the world to his simple, effective and wonderful method of oil painting known as wet on wet. During Bill's television shows he would guide the viewer through the process of completing an oil painting in just 30 minutes. Bill's show gained enormous popularity and he went on to become the only television artist to win an Emmy for his work.

Although Bill was teaching others his method of oil painting on television, so much interest grew in his method that it became necessary to certify instructors to meet the demands of students. The ACI (Alexander Certified Instructor) program still exists today, and now is a great time to join Alexander Art as a certified instructor.

You're probably wondering why you should become an Alexander Certified Instructor. Here are 5 reasons to become certified:

1. Certification provides the necessary credentials that many students and hosting venues are looking for.

2. Own your own business. Teaching others to paint can be profitable AND fun. Some instructors put on weekly classes to gain steady revenue. What could be better than earning money doing something you love?

3. Receive a 50% discount on Alexander Art painting supplies. Let me say that again. 50% discount. This includes brushes, oil paints, instructional materials and other accessories. This discount only applies to Alexander Certified Instructors.

4. Affiliation with a respected company. The Alexander name has been around for over 30 years. With certification they even allow the use of their logo to advertise yourself as an Alexander Certified Instructor.

5. The tuition fee for certification covers more than just record keeping costs. You'll receive a large painting kit, instructional videos and an instructors manual. You get almost everything that you need to complete the course.

Enrolling in the certification course is simple. Just contact Alexander Art and let them know you are interested. You can visit their website for all the necessary contact information. Once you are enrolled, you will have 6 months to complete the course.

There are several tasks that you will need to complete in order to become certified. You'll need to develop 2 projects along with detailed notes that would be useful when teaching a class. Photos of these 2 projects and the notes will need to be submitted to Alexander Art for review. Also, you'll need to teach 2 classes to students. Photos detailing your students progress will be required. Finally, there is a written exam that must be completed and submitted. This is where the videos and the instructors manual will come in handy.

All in all, the certification program can be realistically completed in a short time given the proper preparation and time devoted to completing the work. So if you have been considering becoming an art instructor, the Alexander Certified Instructor program may be just what you have been looking for.
